This park has so much to offer Maricopa residents. There is something for everyone sports, playing, fishing and even working out. Pacana Park is a great place to go when you want to get out of the house for a bit and enjoy the outdoors.
Maricopa, AZ has a couple beautiful parks that are open to the Public, Copper Sky and Pacana Park. Today I want to talk about Pacana Park. This park was here well before Copper Sky and has always been a hot spot for Maricopa residents.
Pacana Park is located on Porter Road between Honeycutt and Bowlin. The address is 19000 N Porter Rd, Maricopa, AZ 85138. Coming down Porter Rd from Honeycutt you will see the park right before you come up to Leading Edge Academy. Pacana is open from Sunrise until 11:00 PM. You can find a lot of different things to do at Pacana Park.
There is a beautiful two acre lake that is roughly eleven feet deep and is stocked with catfish, trout, bass, sunfish, and white amur. There is no swimming, boating or wading in the lake but you can fish at it. The lake follows the Arizona Game and Fishing guidelines. There are limits of how many fish of each type you can catch at a time and take home; 2 cat fish, 2 trout, 1 bass (13 inch minimum), 5 sunfish and 1 white amur (30 inch minimum). This helps the park with re-stocking ad not running out of fish.
Also, at Pacana park you can find a large playground equipped with two jungle gyms, swings for both big kids and babies, a spinner and a stationary skateboard. Right near the playground is a huge picnic table area that is covered. The playground is also shaded. This area is great for hosting birthday parties, small get togethers outside of the backyard and for playdates. I know my daughter loves going to this park because of the swings.
Pacana Park also has two baseball diamonds. These diamonds border Leading Edge and are available to the public leagues, recreational and schools to use. The diamonds are full size baseball diamonds and are lighted for night games or leagues. Having them be lighted is great for the hot month which we all know can be rough in Arizona.
There are two tennis courts that are open for public use as well. The doors are unlocked at sunrise and locked when the park closes. Whether you are practicing for a tournament, school or playing just for fun you are welcome to use these courts.
If you like basketball or shooting hoops Pacana park has one full court and two half courts for public use as well. These courts are located next to the picnic areas right next to the tennis courts. For all the sports facilities you do need to bring your own equipment.
New to Pacana is a workout area. This was recently added and is an awesome addition. Some people do not like going to the gym or working out at all home all the time or indoors at all. This area at Pacana offers rings for pull ups and arm workouts, stones for crunches and leg workouts and a few other stationary cardio options. All of this is available for strengthening your body while enjoying the outdoors.
Pacana park is a beautiful and fun place to take your family, friends and so much more. I highly recommend checking the park out in your spare time and take your friends and family with you. For more information you can always contact:
