Alterra has two division within in it. You have North Alterra Right in front of Maricopa Meadows and South Alterra directly across from Copper Sky. Alterra is a very well developed community with beautiful houses and a lot of things for the residents to do. This community is home to Maricopa Elementary School and since it borders Maricopa Meadows it is very close to Maricopa High School and Maricopa Wells Middle School. Also, very close by is the Bowling alley and Ak-chin hotel and casino. With the overpass going over the railroad tracks Alterra is very easy to get to and is a great area to choose.

These are the places that host many of Maricopa's Events and being within walking distance is great for the pockets when it comes to parking.
